Artists and Teachers

Co-Owner / Instructor Heidi studied ceramics at Skidmore College where she fell in love with pottery making. After graduating in she worked out of various studios in San Francisco, CA and Reading, PA before moving to Hamilton in 2018. She strives to cultivate a fun, thoughtful, and inclusive class where students can find their creative voice through clay or simply find a space for community and mindfulness.

Co-Owner / Instructor Krisa has been a Graphic Designer since 2000 and a Potter since 1988. With 35 years of pottery making she studied at the Silvermine School of Art in Connecticut  for many years. She has taught classes to children and adults and has been selling at Farmers Markets, Craft shows, online and  large corporations. Pottery is her first love and continues to learn and wants to open it up to share with the community.

Clay Mugs

Village Clay’s mission is to inspire through the ceramic arts and foster creative expression through education, exploration, collaboration, and community.

Pottery is the perfect tactile pastime for this moment in time and a welcome break from the digital world. Clay enhances concentration, creativity and mindfulness. Our approach to the arts of ceramics focuses on simplicity, relaxed instruction and experimentation.

Clay is a highly versatile medium, allowing makers to learn myriad techniques, including throwing on the potter’s wheel, hand-sculpted pots, slab pots (created by joining pieces of flattened clay) and pots made by pinching or coiling clay.

Clay Mugs and Cups

We want our studio to feel inviting, warm, creative, and inclusive. We believe every artist needs an adequate space in which to create, and that space should inspire and support their creative process. We also understand how important it is for the place to have just the right environment, and that is what we strive to provide at Village Clay. If you’re looking for a place that nurtures your artistic journey, look no further: we’re here and we can’t wait to see what you can create.
