Mondays 6-8pm Level: Intermediate+ Led by Heidi T. Eakin Think with your hands! Surface Lab is a seven-week experimental ceramics series built around curiosity, exploration, and creative risk-taking. Rather than emphasizing how forms are made, this class looks at what happens on the surface. Together, we will explore texture, mark-making, carving, slip, underglaze, and other surface techniques through hands-on, playful experimentation. Students bring their own handbuilt or wheel-thrown forms and spend each week testing ideas, trying new approaches, and responding to the materials in a relaxed, low-pressure environment. The series stays flexible and evolves organically, shaped by conversation, discovery, and what emerges in the studio. The final session is a celebratory gathering to share work, reflect on the process, and connect as a creative community.

Payment is due at the time of booking, either online or by booking your spot in person at the Village Clay studio, where payment can be made via cash, check, or card. You may cancel this booking with a full refund until 7 days before the course begins. No refunds will be issued once the course begins. If you would like to cancel within the 7 day window before the course, please call the Village Clay studio at 315-228-2029 to speak with a staff member. We will manually cancel your booking and issue a 50% refund in the form of a Village Clay gift card.
